    A letter of thanks

Letter From John Ellison

Dear All,

We write to thank you all for your amazingly generous gift to John at his retirement from ministry in the Benefice. It has been a joy and a privilege to serve and lead worship for 23years here.
Thank you Carrie for your kind words and also for the individual thanks we have received from members of all the congregations that make up our Benefice.
As well as the cheque we received we also had a tea pot made at the Selborne Pottery decorated with fishes - a reminder of Jesus command that we should be “fishers of men”. We have made our afternoon tea in the pot since receiving it and very nice it is too!

We are looking forward to a few days away enabled by your gift.

Thank you also for the beautiful bouquet of flowers I was given. The “magic” 2 colour roses are most unusual and they are still lovely in spite of the heat.

We hope to continue to enjoy friendship and fellowship with you all in the years ahead in this very special Benefice.

With our love John and Helen Ellison.
